Newt Gingrich needs to shut the hell up.
So I got back from work not too long ago, and began to watch the GOP debate. I wasn’t planning on writing anything about it. In fact, I have to be back at work by 7 tomorrow, so I wasn’t planning on doing anything but sleeping.
But then I heard Newt Gingrich say something about there being a bias against Christians and all of my alarms went off at once.
Christians have it very well in this country; they have it peachy.Christians have it fantastic. They are, as it stands, the status quo. And try as they might to make it seem like they are under attack by secularism (they aren’t) and islamofascism (they are), they have it wonderful.
But it’s a different story for atheists. Not long ago, a poll of religious people rated atheists as trustworthy as rapists. RAPISTS.
Atheists are villainized every day here.
And I’m drunk. My attempts to keep this pithy have fallen short. But the bottom line is that Newt Gingrich needs to keep his fat fucking mouth shut about discrimination against religions.
If there is any organization that deserves to be discriminated against, it is a part of organized religion. From the orchestrating of suicide bombs to the molestation of thousands of children, organized religion deserves to be scrutinized.
